Tim Hoey, PhD, Vice President, Cancer Biology

Dr. Tim Hoey previously served as Director, Biology Department at Amgen (San Francisco) and was responsible for characterization of oncogenes and development of drugs to target oncogene products. He was also a member of the Amgen Ventures Scientific Advisory Board. Prior to this he was Director, Biology Department , Tularik, responsible for Cancer Immunology and the development of several oncology drugs that have reached clinical testing. Prior to joining Tularik, he performed post doctoral studies on transcriptional regulation at UC Berkeley under Dr. Robert Tijian.

Dr. Hoey conducted his PhD work at Columbia University on regulation of gene expression with Dr. Michael Levine, Dr. Hoey is inventor on several key patents and author or co-author of over 50 publications.
